Reaching out to Rachel was one of the best decisions I’ve ever made.

I had taken both an online class and an in-person class with Rachel at Bluegrass Nutritional Therapy a few years ago to help me learn about healthier food choices for managing my diabetes. For a long time, I was able to manage my glucose levels with exercise, fairly good food choices (though lax at times), and doctor-prescribed medications.

About a year and a half ago, my A1c began to rise even though I was doing the same things. Eventually, my diabetes was labeled “unmanaged” as my A1c climbed above 9, and my doctor wanted to prescribe additional medication. I was already managing diabetes, cholesterol, and high blood pressure with medications, and I felt discouraged. I knew I needed to make real, lasting changes.

Reaching out to Rachel was one of the best decisions I’ve ever made.

I was nervous walking into that first appointment, but Rachel immediately put me at ease. She was professional, encouraging, and incredibly knowledgeable. She didn’t scold or judge me — she met me where I was and explained everything thoroughly. Together, we made changes that were surprisingly easy and manageable, and my body responded almost immediately.

After a few months, we made a few more adjustments, and the results have been amazing. I’ve lost some weight, reduced my medications, and most importantly, my blood sugar is now well managed. My A1c is currently 6.3! Even better, none of this feels overwhelming or difficult. These changes have simply become a way of life.

I’m excited about how my body is responding and look forward to continued improvements. I’m incredibly grateful for Rachel’s guidance and wholeheartedly recommend Bluegrass Nutritional Therapy to anyone looking to take control of their health.
